If there was ever a golden rule when it comes to taking kids out fishing it would be to keep them busy. Today was the perfect example. The group was a mom, dad and their twin 10 year old boys who were literally bouncing off the walls with excitement for this trip. The stakes were high and performance was a must at this point. Thankfully the weather was perfect that day, having slicked out water all the way to the reef. With that opportunity we ran straight out to my XL yellowtail snapper spot and started chumming. After about 5 minutes of getting those fish acclimated to the presence of the boat, I taught the boys my technique to catch them and BOOM we were off to the races. An hour later with faces red, little preteen arms tired and parents laughing their tails off at the head to head competition that just ensued we had a cooler filled with big yellowtail snapper!
